A verdict This Wednesday!

by @ 6:15 am. Filed under Experiences, Discussion

…or at least I hope so! Im off to see my specialist this wednesday, iv been waitifng months to see him about the air thingy in my ear! Im going to print off the page in Wikipedia about PET, “Patulous Eustachian tube” as sugested by G72 in another tread here.

My specialist, is a lovely man, unlike my Audiologist! abut he diagnosed me with Eustachian Tube Dysfunction before, he is more than probably wright, but whats happening with my ear just doesnt add up to that! The PET symptoms are spot on to what I feel, and I wonder if it is, ill put it to him on Wednesday and I hope he wont take offence in me saying it! but I am really eager to find a cure or any way to ease it, and I refuse to leave on Wednesday untill I get an answer! so heres hoping :)

And now…I have a place…

by @ 10:17 am. Filed under Misc

Recently, I have relocated to a small college town, with some culture to which the gods should be thanked, and am in a new apartment. Not with a roommate but all to myself. And it’s in Middlebury, VT, home to Middlebury College, a respected liberal arts school.

Anyway, I now have an inner sanctum to run wild with my creativity, but on the one hand, there’s no internet access yet which has to be worked out. And will continue to check my posts by Blackberry or using the local wifi at the library a few blocks away.

Now that I’m out of the Starbucks work system, there’s a new job waiting for me as a community specialist for a deaf client in the area so it’s part-time and something to do in order to hold my place down.

Deaf Creative Professionals..

by @ 10:43 am. Filed under Misc

Since creative professionals are advised to ‘cold call’, why would this be necessary in the age of the internet? I’m aware clients don’t find it amusing and prefer email or postal mail (ie. promotionals) to be informed of the professional’s services.

If this was the way to promote ourselves, would’nt a website, by word of mouth and simple use of flyers and/or ads in mass market magazines do the trick for deaf illustrators? I ask because I’m trying to figure out how to get out there more often into the field of storyboarding and visual storytelling media in print (novels, sequential graphic tales, and such).

I know Boston and Montreal are the closest art “meccas” to Burlington, VT and have not gone to those places yet…and imagine there are more deaf people in those spots, perhaps, involved in the creative industry.

In a way, I miss life in Cleveland because their art scene seemed to be more courageous and on the cutting edge while a small town such as Burlington may have this whimpering attitude without having the balls to push the envelope. I cannot stand the “barnyard on a landscape” piece that can be usually prevalent on rural states.

I need to know..

by @ 11:13 am. Filed under Misc

I frequent this nightclub at times and was served by a waitress (whom I like) and have gone there on and off..maybe once or twice a month due to driving distance currently (previously was living closer to that place) and one time, three months ago AND last Saturday night, before leaving the place back to home, I asked how much I owed her for the check (the drinks) and she said:

It’s all good.

Twice, she did this.

Does this mean anything or just plain courtesy? Everytime I go there, she’s been pretty fun and professional about it in the same time.

Can anyone shed any light on this why a waitress would say something like this?

Thanks,

-A
