Hi Lette I have also been wondering where everyone is. The board has been really quiet.

It is very hot here. I haven’t been Christmas shopping yet will do next week when hubby is on leave. Not looking forward to the crowded shops. Fortunately I only need to buy for my mom, boys and hubby so it wont be so bad.

We fortunately don’t have a hot meal at Christmas but have cold cuts and salad instead.

I will have my mom staying over that weekend and am looking forward to it.

How about everyone else, what will you be making and doing over Christmas.

    yeay people!! :) :) :)
I adore christmas, and I have an old tradition that i stick by every christmas day, I buy myself a christmassy comfy pajamas, and stay in them all day, even if I go visit!! I always do it, no exceptions!! My Brother keeps me laughing, My mum cooks, Dad keeps the open fires going, and I make the bestest mash potatoes with onions and herbs Mmmmm….. And the pressies, I always go overboard, but my family and friends are worth it :) I love it so much :) cant wait :) on St. stephens day then, my uncle and Gran comes to ours for dinner and my Fiance joines us too :) great fun :)

I’m alright…lost my job from Starbucks for no reason thanks to the stupid manager and lost my bid to get an apartment, so I ended up living at a temporary shelter for homeless people which pisses me off.
Now I work temporarily ‘on call’ as a sales associate for Macy’s on weekends only…the economy is such a pain here..and I’m collecting unemployment insurance…living in Vermont is really getting on my nerves now.
Kind of want to escape to Montreal or something..especially when I should be working professionally as a deaf creative/designer.

And let me reiterate one more time: My former boss is an effing moron.

Hi Lette I also love the pressie and family thing, I also tend to go overboard but its once a year so why not. Even though we dont make a hot meal we all make the meal together it is such a lovely feeling.

I also love pjs and if I could I would live in them I find them so comfy.

I will be having my mom over for the Christmas weekend as she lives in an old age home. I usually have her stay over every second weekend it is a nice break for her from the home.

well I hope you have a lovely day.

Hi Sanctum I am sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. I can understand you being upset but have faith something good is sure to come your way.

I will say a special prayer for you. Good Luck and hang tight.

awwww Adam that sucks!! :( but chin up eh?? the wind of change may blow ur way yet :) :) ….Woah, that was a bit deep!! but I mean it :) just keep smiling its all you can do! I am working for a complete idiot at the moment also, My manager is away on Maternity leave and they made one of the young girls her ‘acting’ manager, so she is only pretend :p
but she has no experience, no manners, no respect, and she is throwing her weight around like she owns us, I dont care who runs the place as long as they show some respect!!! Its not all bad tho, im only parttime, and Im in college everyday of which I adore :)

Thanks, though. One of the reasons I got fired was using my Blackberry after the store closed so I can make sure my buddy was okay from the car accident since he was visiting me in town. I think what the manager did was BS and hypocritical because I know I’ve seen other people use cell phones on the floor which is against regulations….he’s a nice guy but I really think he’s full of it and not very bright.
Understaffing has been his biggest weakness and does’nt know how to run things right.
He’s probably not ‘hardcore’ enough to handle Starbucks. It’s ridiculous though…I have to figure out what to do…hate the sense of homelessness and not having a real job in my hands…and I really think Starbucks was indirectly responsible for ruining my plans due to short-sightedness.

    Heya,

I’ve been okay, mostly coming off my balance pills and picking up every illness going for my sins. I’m improving health wise enough to start doing things, but I’m taking it slowly so that I do not relapse. I have been reading, just being crap at replying while my brain unfogged.

Nigel is still around albeit busy busy busy, I’ve only spoken to him briefly because he’s been os busy. I’ll tell him you guys are asking after him. I will be seeing him on Sat hopefully for CURREH as it’s been too long since we caught up.

I don’t really do Xmas, in that I’m indifferent to it, our families aren’t exactly great. I’m not a christian so there’s no religious symbolism for me. I also hate the stress and commercialism associated with it. I know people who can do it meaningfully, but sadly too many who spend beyond their means and then whine about it for months and months after and complain about what they received…

We don’t really acknowledge it, other than to shop in advance for food and necessities and stay well out of shops until it is all over. I quite like New Year if it isn’t /too/ alcoholic, I’m going to a party this year for the first time in ages and I’m really looking forward to it. I just hope public transport behaves!

Sanctum: I’m really sorry to hear about your job, that really sucks. I hope you are able to do other stuff which opens up new opportunities for you and that things improve for you greatly soon.
