The Silence of Deafness is an Abstract, not an Absolute.
Did you know that certain meds can cause hearing loss. About 15 years ago I went to a talk about this topic and the Professor giving the talk actually gave us a list of meds that can cause hearing loss. Unfortunately I no longer have it but for some of you like Lette for example it may be a possible cause. If you are interested there are a number of sites in google under medication effects on hearing. I hope this helps someone.

meds that can cause hearing loss and tinnitus are called ototoxic drugs. some of them are aspirin or analgesic (when taken in large doses), anti-malaria drugs and some anti-tubercular drugs.

I’m sure when taking drugs serious enough that your hearing can be lost would be mentioned by your health care practitioner.
If it’s not then they should be sued.
