The Silence of Deafness is an Abstract, not an Absolute.
Hey all,
I found this link to a site at: http://www.no-spec.com/. This is for those who are involved in the creative/design industry and are against the use of speculative work by clients and I urge you to empower yourselves with this knowledge which has become a prevalent issue among a lot of people such as I.
I also just got a full-time job interview last week at a publishing house in Vermont which is entry level, so we’ll see if I make it to round 2 this week and this company is independently owned with a nice view of the mountains and lake. I’m still trying to figure out the signs or signals that the guy might have decided to go with me for round 2.
But I have to ask..is it normal for an interviewer to reveal the actual salary during the interview since I just estimated the salary requirements on my resume? He even brought up the mention of benefits and perks. I thought interviewees were’nt supposed to ask about them until after the interview or until after they get hired.
Maybe he’s revealing this information to me because I’m the likeliest candidate?
But I’m going to play it by ear and see how it goes this week.

Well here in Ireland, its nessary to to discuss the salary and perks before either they accept you or you accept the Job, I mean theres no point in taking a job and then realise ur being payed peanuts!! over here its compulsary in the interview to talk those issues over
best of luck with it, im sure ull do great

Athina,
I hope so. Because it’s really common sense that during interviews you’re not supposed to talk about salary or bring it up, not even benefits. But since this was an informal interview, the marketing director mentioned the $$ and benefits near the end of the conversation which raised my antennaes and thought “Is he hinting something to me?” even though he’s interviewing other folks though.
.
I’m still hoping that I get into Round 2 of the interview sessions later this week or so. For me, this was unusual and since this was an independently/privately owned global company and one of its headquarters is also in Britain

thats so different to here!!, we always bring up the salery and perks of the Job in an interview, and there are no round 2’s or the like, you have the interview and you either get it or you dont!! the world is a small place but can be a little different
Best of luck again with it tho

You probably shouldn’t make assumptions about the interviewers intentions. Maybe he mentioned the salary and benefits to everyone he interviewed. It’s not that unusual although more often it’s not mentioned until a job offer is extended. Good luck.
